Secure meetings and messaging.
Free. No phone number. No email.
AntDune is building a free, end-to-end encrypted alternative for video meetings and group messaging — Zoom-style meetings built on Signal-style privacy principles, designed so that even we cannot see what you say, and know as little as possible about who you are.
Why this matters
Good video meetings usually cost a monthly subscription, and most tools ask for a phone number, an email address or access to your contacts before you can talk to anyone. People who need privacy most — journalists, lawyers, doctors, activists, families living under pressure — are often the ones who can least afford either the cost or the exposure.
AntDune's commitment: free for everyone, no ads, no data sales, and no account data to hand over, because the system is designed not to collect it in the first place.
Privacy by design
What AntDune is designed never to ask for or store:
- Phone number
- Email address
- Contact list
- Real name
- Call or message content
- Call history
End-to-end encrypted, always
Audio, video and messages are encrypted on your device. Encryption is designed to be impossible to switch off, and if something cannot be decrypted it is never shown or played — no silent fallback.
Servers that know nothing
Our servers only relay encrypted data and are designed never to hold encryption keys; and room and participant identifiers are random and short-lived. Names are shared only inside the encrypted channel.
Our own infrastructure
Built on proven open-source components such as the LiveKit media server, operated by us rather than a third-party cloud service — so no outside party is trusted with the system.
Modern group encryption
Group meetings and group messaging are planned around MLS (RFC 9420), the IETF standard for end-to-end encrypted group communication, with device-level identity and key verification.

Where we are
AntDune is an early-stage project, not yet a public product. Working today: end-to-end encrypted video calls between Macs and from Mac to iPhone, over the internet through our own server. Next: measured call quality on weak networks, the encryption key layer, and group messaging.
We only call something done when a test shows it working — configuration alone is not proof.
Built with Claude
Claude has been part of AntDune's engineering workflow from its early development stages: software architecture, implementation, debugging, test design, technical research, protocol and security analysis, and documentation. Most of the project's commits are co-authored with Claude.
Who we are
AntDune is led by an independent founder and is not a company. It is a non-commercial project, with the long-term aim of being run by a non-profit organization — the same model that keeps Signal independent. There are no investors and nothing to sell.
